About Our Event
As mountain hunters, we value strength, nerve, and skill — the strength to climb through rugged terrain, the nerve to venture deep into the backcountry, and the skill to make accurate shots under pressure. We’re committed to developing these abilities—and having a great time doing it. Come join us!
Rules and Expectations
· Pack weight: 25 lbs men, 15 lbs women; weighed before and after the Mountain Challenge 5K and Head-to-Head. Packs are not required for the 3D course.
· Divisions: Men Under 40, Men 40+, Women, and Clydesdale (235+ lbs on race day).
· Traditional shooters may have a separate division if 5+ register; otherwise, they compete in age/Clydesdale divisions with shorter distances (25 yards and under).
· Any archery setup is allowed, but the same setup must be used for all events.
· Any pack or weighted vest is allowed if it meets the required weight.
· Supportive footwear with aggressive tread is recommended.
· Arrow scoring affects time: accurate shots reduce time, poor shots add time.
· Prizes awarded to the top three in each division for each event (5K, 3D Course, Head-to-Head) and overall.
· Meals: Friday dinner and Saturday breakfast provided; food available for purchase Saturday afternoon. Bring snacks and extra water as a backup.
· Free primitive camping and RV/camper parking available at the venue starting Thursday, April 30.
